Suddenly plastic? That's why we rely on the reusable system

We never use plastic packaging. And for good reason, as there is a huge problem with plastic waste worldwide! The fact that we are now using a PET bottle, and doing so with complete conviction, is thanks to a revolutionary change by zerooo.

The choice between glass and plastic was in the context of sustainability has never been easy. This is where the environmental damage caused by plastic waste and the high CO₂ emissions caused by glass are offset. Although glass packaging avoids the waste problem, it requires around six times as much energy as plastic due to the energy-intensive production and recycling at temperatures of up to 1,600 degrees Celsius.

And plastic also performs better in terms of transport and safety: Because the light and more shatter-proof packaging is Saves CO₂ in transport, safer to use and often more durable than the fragile glass versions.

What has changed with the zerooo bottles? The PET bottle is in the reusable system! After use, the new PET deposit bottles are simply returned to return machines, collected, cleaned and refilled. This eliminates two major challenges: waste is minimized and the energy required for recycling is reduced.

When a bottle reaches the end of its reusable cycle, it continues sustainably: During the cleaning process, it is collected and, thanks to the pure material, processed again into equivalent products. This creates a virtually endless cycle that reduces waste and emissions to a minimum.

With this reusable concept, we are helping to further reduce the ecological footprint of our packaging. As soon as your Aloe Vera Serum is empty, you can now easily return the deposit bottle to Budni, Müller, Edeka, REWE and Globus self-service stores as well as to some packaging-free stores.
