Most of our ingredients come from nature and this is where we want to give back by selling our products. So every product sold plants 3m² flowering meadow (Exception: On the mouth donates 1 m²) and that as close as possible to you around the corner. We are currently working with five partners: the Ayinger herb garden in Bavaria, Gut Wulfsdorf near Hamburg, Hof Nagel in Hesse, Hof Becker near Cologne and Burgwallhof near Berlin. Depending on the project, perennial flowering meadows are sown in spring and sometimes again in autumn - this means that the meadow is mowed once a year, but the flowers grow again for up to five years. You may know the principle from your own garden.
Why we choose flowering meadows have decided? On the one hand they are essential for bees - our hard-working employees*, without whom an important part of many of our products would not exist; the beeswax. However, flowering meadows not only offer a shelter for bees, but also for various insects, birds and small animals. These suffer greatly from the way partially conventional agriculture is practiced. Among other things, due to the intensification of monocultures, pesticides and chemical-synthetic fertilizers, biodiversity is constantly declining, and this has far-reaching consequences for nature. There are fewer and fewer bees and wild bees that can pollinate plants, food chains for birds, for example, are broken because there are fewer insects, and other important tasks can no longer be fulfilled. Did you know, for example, that insects have a massive impact on soil fertility by crushing dead biomass and are also involved in the self-cleaning processes of water bodies?
By planting flowering meadows and flower strips next to fields, urgently needed habitats are created again, which give a boost to biodiversity. Flower strips along field edges also ensure that fewer fertilizers and the veterinary medicines they sometimes contain are washed away into the environment. The flower strips even ensure their biological degradation.
With our flowering meadow projects we try to create a meaningful cycle. With our products, we keep the impact on the environment as low as possible and also give something back directly through the flowering meadows we have created. That's why we only use a few selected ingredients and design our products without plastic. With our flowering meadow projects So you can give something back to nature on top. We are happy about everyone who strongly supports us in our mission.
